C-Series Combined Load Banks

Overview

Load banks consist of resistive, inductive, and/or capacitive elements. They apply controlled active and/or reactive loads to electrical power sources.

Unlike highly variable on-site loads, load banks provide predetermined, controllable loads. They use the power source's energy output to test, support, or protect the system.

Hilkar C-Series combined load banks combine resistive and reactive loads to apply controlled active and reactive power demand to electrical power sources for testing and performance verification.

Available in portable and stationary configurations, C-Series load banks provide load step increments as low as 1 kVAr, enabling precise load control and power factor adjustment for small to large generator systems.

Designed for flexible operation, these load banks are suitable for both workshop and on-site testing and can be supplied as trailer-mounted units for easy transportation and field applications.

Portable C-Series combined load bank with stainless steel enclosure, control panel, ventilation grilles and castor wheels
  • Robust and durable design
  • Vertical or horizontal air discharge configuration
  • ISO containerized or custom enclosure options
  • Integrated remote control system with data acquisition, monitoring, and load step control
  • Easy integration and synchronization with other load banks
  • Corrosion-resistant coating for outdoor applications
  • High-temperature-class reactors for inductive loads on demand
  • Designs compatible with IEC 62116, IEEE Std 929, and UL 1741 standards
  • Configurable load combinations: R / L / C / RL / RC / RLC

Hilkar load banks can be equipped with optional touchscreen LCD displays, wireless remote load step controllers, and PC-based control software for advanced testing and monitoring. The control system provides fan start/stop control, electrical parameter monitoring, load step management, timing functions, data recording, test modes, and fault detection. PC controllers communicate with the load bank via a USB connection.

Load banks include circuit breaker protection and provide easy access to switchgear compartments and reactors. Integrated safety functions protect against fan failure, low airflow, overvoltage, overheating, and phase sequence faults. Suitable for flexible field operation, trailer-mounted C-Series combined load banks provide reliable solutions for on-site generator testing.
