Smoothing Reactors are connected in series in DC power systems to reduce current ripple, harmonic currents, and transient overcurrents.
By smoothing the DC current waveform, they improve power quality, reduce system losses, protect power electronic components, and enhance the performance and reliability of rectifiers, converters, and other DC equipment.
Smoothing Reactors improve the performance and stability of DC power systems by limiting current ripple, harmonic currents, and transient overcurrents.
They help prevent inverter commutation failures caused by AC voltage dips at the converter bus by limiting the rate of rise of DC current during transient conditions. In addition, they smooth the DC current waveform to maintain continuous current flow under light-load conditions, reduce harmonic currents and voltages in DC circuits, and limit peak fault currents during DC line short circuits.
